i) LINGMOOR FELL and ii) HOLME FELL -

30 August 2007

i) Blea Tarn - Lingmoor Fell - Blea Tarn

ii) Hodge Close Quarry - Ivy Crag - Holme Fell - Hodge Close Quarry

6 miles, 1400 feet of ascent

I decided to do these two ''fells'' which are very close together as two separate walks as I was pressed for time.

I headed up the path opposite Blea Tarn House

and as I climbed the view back down to Blea Tarn improved by the minute

The heather on top of Lingmoor was sensational

The view over to the Langdale Pikes was pretty good as well.

The second walk started from Hodge Close Quarry

and headed past the reservoirs beneath Holme Fell

The view to the Langdale Pikes was excellent

It is quite a rocky little summit

that also gives superb views of Wetherlam as well.

Two very pleasant walks in lovely weather conditions.
