GREAT COCKUP, MEAL FELL, GREAT SCA FELL, BRAE FELL and LONGLANDS FELL - 7 July 2007
Longlands - Great Cockup - Meal Fell - Great Sca Fell - Brae Fell - Longlands Fell - Longlands
6.50 miles, 2000 feet of ascent
The third walk of the day started at Longlands, a lovely out of the way spot. I headed for the Trusmadoor Pass with Great Cockup on the right.
From Great Cockup there was a good view of Bakestall where I had been earlier in the day, but Skiddaw was still in cloud.
In the opposite direction was Meal Fell, my next fell.
From the top of Meal Fell was a view of Little Sca Fell on the left and Great Sca Fell on the right.
From the top of Great Sca Fell, Scotland could be seen bathed in sunshine.
The chunky cairn on Brae Fell.
The final top of the day, Longlands Fell, looking back to Brae Fell looking across Charleton Gill, which had been difficult to cross due to the amount of water gushing down the fellside.
A good walk which would have been better without the low cloud.
