Binsey Lodge - Binsey - Binsey Lodge

Skiddaw House Road - Bakestall - Skiddaw House Road

6.5 miles, 1700 feet of ascent

Three separate walks today, two of which are shown here, to fit in some of the Northern Fells.

First I parked at Binsey Lodge and headed over the stile. The weather was a little misty!

The summit is an ancient tumulus with plenty of rock and a trig point

There is a lovely view back to Over Water. It is only a mile up and a mile down; a charming walk.

The second walk of the day was Bakestall from the start of the Skiddaw House Road. Now foggy rather than misty!

The 'road' leads up to the Dash falls which are quite spectacular

From the falls I headed up Birkett Edge to the summit of Bakestall

AW advises not to descend via Dead Crags in mist so I retraced my steps, but as the fog lifted at least I saw some of the rock. Then it was back to the car and on to the third starting point of the day.
