SELSIDE PIKE - 2 May 2007

Sadgill - Grey Crag - Tarn Crag - Branstree - Selside Pike - Branstree - Gatesgarth Pass- Sadgill

11 miles, 3500 feet of ascent

What better way to celebrate ones birthday than with a walk in the Lake District on a beautiful day. I didn't know Longsleddale until today, but I will be back. The drive up the valley is so quiet and unspoilt.

This is a shot of Sadgill where the car is parked at the bridge, from Great Howe

Tarn Crag, the next top, from Grey Crag.

A survey pillar on Tarn Crag built to help in the construction of Haweswater. Is that too small to be classified as a summit tarn? Yes, I suppose it's more of a summit pond!

What a view to enjoy whilst eating lunch. Haweswater from just below the summit of Branstree.

High Street and Blea Water from the same spot.
